Joya Marie Marsh was born and raised in Michigan. From a young age she showed artistic talent, drawing on and creating books from the excess neurology scan paper her grandmother brought home from work. She became fascinated with photography around age ten and her father and stepmother entertained her with a limitless supply of disposable cameras to experiment with. In high school the Henry Ford Vocational Technical Center offered her the opportunity to explore new areas of visual creativity. But, it was not until 2003 during her first year at college that Joya discovered the fine art of printmaking, the perfect melding for all her favorite techniques. She has been in love with it ever since and continues to explore the possibilities it offers.
